All currencies are accepted in Seychelles and can be changed at the various banks and/or Bureau de Change on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. However US Dollars, Euros and GBP Pounds are more appreciated.
Buying rates as of October 2011 are as follows: (rates vary monthly)
1 Dollar = Scr12.42
1 Euro = Scr17.28
1 Pound = Scr19.25
Lodging range from self-catering apartments to 5 star hotels and can charge from as low as 50 Euros per day for 2 people and up to 2000 Euros. It is advisable to book your stay through a reservations office so as to receive the complete cost for your stay.
Expenses throughout the day vary depending on how you choose to move around the island. The local bus service charges a fixed fee of Scr5 per trip to travel around the island (Mahe and Praslin) where as Taxis charge depending on the distance travelled (from Scr50 to Scr800 per trip).
On Mahe if you are travelling by bus, reserve at least (per person) Scr25 for the bus, Scr50 for light snacks, Scr50 for a takeaway at lunchtime, Scr13 for a bottle of lemonade and Scr20 for a bottle of water, a total of at least Scr160 per person.
Additional expenses will depend on souvenirs being bought.
