There are modern and efficient communication services in Seychelles. Presently there are two GSM networks in operation, namely Cable and Wireless and Airtel. Mobile prepaid cards for Airtel and Cable and Wireless are on sale in shops on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.
Direct dialing is also possible to most countries from most Hotels. Seychelles also has International Roaming facilities with over 20 countries. Payphones are also available in most districts, to use them please insert Scr1.00 coin one at a time, depending on the duration of the call.
There are also internet cafes located mostly around Victoria and Beauvallon, as well as on Praslin and La Digue. Web browsing and emailing services are offered at a fee.
There are also postal and courier services in Victoria for those who wish to send a postcard or post a parcel. The post office is located at the Liberty House along Independence Avenue in Victoria, next to the clock tower. The Hours of Business are Monday to Friday: 08H00 - 16H00 and Saturday 08H00 - 12H00. There are many newspapers and gazettes in Seychelles which provide details about developments happening locally and internationally. The Seychelles Nation is published daily and can be bought in shops across Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.
Also available are others such as The Rising Sun, Today and Isola Bella. The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation also provides local and international news and entertainment on televisions everyday of the week and airtime is from 0600hrs - 2400hrs, after which CNN and BBC is broadcasted.
