WHEN TO GO?
Located 4-11 degrees south of the equator, the Tropical islands of Seychelles enjoy generally good weather all year round. However the best time to go can be determined by your preference for certain activities.
Two opposing trade winds govern the weather in Seychelles: the North-west monsoon from October to March when wind speeds average 8 to 12 knots and the south-east trade winds from May to September with winds between 10 to 20 knots.
The periods of calm between the trades give warm and wind free conditions throughout April and in October.
Bird Watching is best enjoyed in April as this is the breeding season for birds. May to September is the time of nesting for sooty terns. In October the birds can be seen migrating from one place to another.
Diving and Snorkeling can be done year round but is best enjoyed in April to May and October to November. During these months the water temperature sometimes reaches 29°C and visibility is often 30 metres plus.
